100% Less Tell Em' Steve Dave!

Well, where do I start? I used to listen to quite a few of the Smodcast Podcast Network’s programs. Let’s see there was, Smodcast, Tell Em’ Steve Dave, Blowhard, Plus One, Hollywood Babylon, and Jay and Silent Bob get old. Over the last couple months I’ve whittled these podcasts down to three. Before I get into why I still listen to those three, let’s start by talking about why I stopped listening to the others.
Tell Em’ Steve Dave
This show was much better when the participants had no idea what they were doing. I don’t know where along the line it stopped being funny, but the final straw for me came in the form of two podcasts back to back in which Bryan, Walt and Q did nothing but talk about what they were gong to do on another podcast for Zune. I was already wading through an hour and half of crap to yield a half hour of funny. Now they want me to listen to three hours of crap for what, 45 minutes of funny? It just wasn’t good time management. So I deleted the old ones and unsubscribed. I know it’s free guys but in a world where most people can’t seem to make much money time becomes currency!
Blowhard
Malcolm Ingram is a very interesting guy who has a million stories about all sorts of interesting things he’s seen and done in his life. Unfortunately all he wants to talk about is sucking cock. When Malcolm first started podcasting with his Mom, it seemed to me that he was an example of a gay man that a straight guy like me could actually be friends with. Despite the addition of a lesbian co-host to spice up the heterosexual male angle, the show still seemed to delve too much into gay anal sex while ignoring all other aspects of Malcolm and his life. You’re going to say I’m homophobic, and you’d be wrong. If I knew someone who talked about golf as much as Malcolm Ingram talks about sucking cock, I’d stop listening to them too!
Plus One
It was obvious from the get go that Kevin’s wife Jennifer wanted to make Plus One an interesting and informative podcast. There is one main problem. Her co-host is so stoned off his ass he either doesn’t understand what she’s talking about, or just flat out makes fun of her the entire time. I stopped listening after a number of episodes where Jennifer started a discussion on a topic that interested me, only to be thwarted by the stoney shenanigans of the ”too stoned to comprehend” Smith. Sorry Jen, maybe if you did a podcast with a friend or something?
I still listen to Hollywood Babylon, Jay and Silent Bob Get Old and Smodcast, because they all have the magic formula. Kevin just really shines when he’s paired with someone who is either way dumber or way smarter than he is.
